American Apparel hired Cohn Construction to renovate the former Salty's building in 5 Points to be their new retail clothing location. After taking numerous bids from various firms American Apparel was unable to make the project meet their budget. Cohn Construction was contacted by the company to work with The Boudreaux Group on finding cost saving alternatives to make the project feasible. Together they were able to trim over one hundred thousand dollars off the project and make it happen. The project started in August of 2008 was completed ahead of schedule on October 9th. The scope involved a complete demolition, renovation, and rehab of the space.

Cohn Construction is proud to announce the completion of our new corporate office at 912 Lady St in the heart of the Vista. The project started with a wide open space in the former Feed & Seed building. The company worked with LTC Associates to preserve the historical character and Tim McClendon on the interior design. Original features of the space that were preserved include restored wood floors, ceilings, rafters, and columns. Additionally, some high lights include modern lighting, hardware, and fixtures as well as copper clouds and extensive trim work. The new location will serve as not only our office but also a showcase of the workmanship and finished product we can provide our clients with.

In late 2006 Chinese American restaurant owner Barbara Wang came to Cohn Construction to begin the design-build process for her new facility. We worked with her to isolate the project scope, design, schedule, and budget. The project will consist of a 4000 SF building and 6000 SF building, retiring the existing restaurant, and building the new Chinese American restaurant. The current restaurant will remain open during construction.

Hope Baptist Church came to Cohn Construction in early 2008 to begin the design for their new child care and education facility. The church had begun enrollement for the upcoming school year and was not only looking for value but also looking for a hands-on construction company that could get the project completed on time. The project broke ground in June of 2008 and was completed within budget and in record speed (8 weeks) allowing the church almost one month of preparation for the new school year.

In 2005 Longtown Self-Storage hired Cohn Construction to build its new location in the Northeast part of Columbia. The facility features a management office, eight self-storage buildings with 400 mix-sized rental units (climate and non-climate control), and both covered and uncovered RV/boat parking. The project was completed in under five months and its success brought Cohn Construction two additional self-storage building projects with the company.

Cohn Construction worked with the Village Bistro owner, Saki, to help design and build the upfit for the upscale restaurant at the Village at Sandhill. Some highlights of the restaurant design include a concrete stamped floor, designer lighting and finishes, exposed ceilings, and a state-of-the-art kitchen. The new location opened the public in August of 2007.
